BOOKLIFE REVIEW

What makes this WWII era fiction unique is the authors’ capable handling of multiple plotlines—and the smooth storytelling that transitions from past to present. Though immense in scope, the story moves at a quick clip, and the mystery is both complex and satisfying in its conclusion.

5 STARS

Michael Putegnat and Wayne Moore have written an engaging and suspenseful novel filled with political intrigue, action, and drama.

Every character (including the villain) is well-written and fascinating. Joseph, his friends, their globetrotting experiences, the shocking discoveries, and their respective challenges made this novel hard to put down. I recommend Hunting Tobias to fans of historical mysteries built around the Holocaust and World War II events. This multi-generational tale will linger in your thoughts long after you've finished this enlightening book.

With Hunting Tobias, Michael Putegnat and Wayne Moore have crafted a compelling story that is historical, suspenseful, and mysterious. Vivid and engaging, it illustrates William Faulkner’s dictum that the past is not dead, nor is it even past. Don’t pass up this memorable novel.

I had hoped to be a writer after graduating from St. Edwards University in Austin, but family imperatives and minimum nutritional requirements argued for pragmatism, and that rode me through a series of enterprises, elected and appointed public service, a graduate degree from Harvard, higher education administration and professorship, and finally to consulting for businesses, government and non-profits.

Along the way, I forgot where I started.

I like to think it was a long, circuitous postponement, and it turns out it was a useful practical research that informed and inspired my first novel, Laguna, which won an IPPY Gold Medal in 2007.

In 2016 I began writing full time. I guess you could say that at last I have come to the beginning.

Please write to me. I'd like to read what you think of my novel.
